Coin Exchange

For the past 15 months, I accumulated hundreds of Singaporean coins. So, today I decided to deposit half of those metallic monetary units. When I went to the teller, she told me that the bank only accepts coin deposits on Tuesday and Thursday and there is a one-dollar charge for less than 200-piece coin deposits. In my home country, banks allow to deposit any day of the week (of course except those days that are holiday and weekends). In addition, there is no such thing as coin exchange charges in my home country. I am a bit surprise that the bank has this kind of policy. Maybe it is a good strategy for them to speed up the average time spent for each transaction to accommodate all customers. Based on my experience today, it really took a lot of time to deposit coins (the teller finished the transaction at around 8-10 mins compared with other customers, I think the average is around 2-5 mins). Oh well, that's the way it is. I wish that the existing cash deposit machines can accept coins too. :)
Maybe I will just make sure that I will use my remaining coins to buy small things such as drinks, newspapers and magazines. For my $0.50 and $1.00 coins, I can use them in some arcade such as those in Suntec. For the rest, I will save it into my coin collection... (so far I haven't started yet but I already have a few currencies such as Thai Baht, Philippine Peso, Chinese Yuan, US Dollar, Singaporean Dollar, UK Pound, Malaysian Ringgit)

My Girl (part 2)

Last Friday, I finally saw the face of "My Girl". I never expected that she looks older than the first time i had a glimpse of her. It happened when I am about to go out from our office for lunch. She was walking first to the door when she suddenly stops in front of the door, which was still slightly open. So, I never hesitated to open the door for her, that is to press the white button so that you can push the door. But I tried to push the door for her but she pushed it first. I was looking at her when she was going to the lift. I am bit upset on myself because I forgot to say Ni Hao Ma or Good morning....Ai yooo!! Anyway, I have faith that someday we will cross our paths again and I would never hesitate to greet her... :)

My Girl

My housemates bought an original DVD of the famous KoreaNovela "My Girl". They enjoyed watching the series especially the funny parts. I took some glances to see the movie but I decided to stay in my room and watched the last episodes of Lost 2... (kainis...bitin). Oh well, I am writing this not to tell you about the KoreaNovela. I am writing this because I met someone....oooopps, not yet...actually I saw an interesting lady in the office today. I am about to wash my water bottle when I saw her in her alluring black dress with a long slit on the right leg (the slit is just above the knee).

She has a brownish, blonde long hair (I think she is a Singaporean, not a Caucasian). She also has fair complexion.Unfortunately, I never saw her face because she was busy drinking water... (yeah, there is a drinking station in the pantry where I will wash my water bottle)..From a far, she seems to have an angelic face... (I hope my contact lens are not blurry at that time)... I hope tomorrow I will see her again but this time I will greet her Ni Hao Ma or just say good morning. I won't be shy to say that ... (we'll see, I never approached a girl to say hello or good morning especially beautiful women).. It would be a Start of Something New (inspired by the song from the High School Musical soundtrack...hehe) to me...hehe...goodluck to me...:D

A Taste of Thailand

At last, I had visited the Land of the Free and Smiles, THAILAND. Last Saturday, me and my 2 friends went to Bangkok. It is a nice city with colorful metered taxis (may pink, blue/red, blue, orange, purple, yellow), jetspeed like tuktuk (tricycles) and Filipino-like complexion people. It is the place where you can see the following tourist spots.

Pat Pong night bazaar - A place where you can buy a lot of souvenir items such as buddha and elephant miniatures. Aside from the stores, there are a lot of so-called GO-GO bars...dunno why they call it GO-GO. Fortunately, there was a guy who approached us to watch the ever famous shows because all of the bars were closed that night because it is the Queen's birthday. So we went there to watch the girls' "vacuum" tricks. The trick that I like best is the one which she shot 2 balloons using sumpit (a gadget to blow a sharp stick). My friends are still wondering how one girl was able to transform the colorless water into a black water...hmmm... (may jobos ata sa loob eh...dugas)

Temple of Dawn - You can see ceramic temple structures here

Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha - We went here to visit the former home of the Thai Royal family. According to our tourist guide, the Royal family already moved to farther and bigger palace. In this palace, you can see the emerald buddha... (most of the buddha are golden so kakaiba talaga ito).

Temple of Dawn - ceramic temple structures, and beautiful paintings with golden chips on it.... magkano kaya ito...hmmm...??

Wat Po Temple - The resting place of the golden buddha...ayus mag posing di ba...relax na relax. This is a place where you can drop coins to several bowls. I think you should be able to fill in all bowls before you ran out of coins.

Suam Lum Bazaar - A place where you can eat, shop and have fun. When we went there there was a half-man and half woman singing in local language. There is a also a big ferris wheel...shocks it is so big that I could not capture it in my camera at close range. I have to be at the top of the bldg to have a clearer view. The food here is very good especially the pad thai and tom yam khoom... hot hot hot!!

Floating Market - No...it is not flooded. It is a village in Thailand where houses are built above the waters. It is so unique because people here have boats to sell food, souvenirs and fruits. It was a nice experience because I don't think you can find this market in any countries.

I just hope that I can go back and visit the other cities and places in Thailand especially Phuket. So long....Sawasdee Kha! Ahhh...I miss the sweet accent of their voices when speaking in Thai...
